What did Rius Water bring to the 2026 Denver Yoga Summit?
The 2026 Denver Yoga Summit gathered yogis, healers, teachers, and first-timers on 700 acres in the foothills of the Rockies. Rius was there all weekend with water, conversation, and a few surprises.
"We had a ton of fun meeting the guests, practitioners, and healers," says Ryan Philipsborn, founder of Rius Water. "We even took some of the courses. That was new for us, and it was a fantastic experience."
Rius came to share water and to teach why and how they do what they do. Many attendees stopped by between sessions to taste the difference for themselves.
Who is Rius Water?
Rius Water and its founder, Ryan Philipsborn, are water enthusiasts. They want people to enjoy better water and to notice how water feels in the body. Water is a daily input for people, pets, and plants. Rius believes better water is one of the easiest ways to support your health.
Rius has a sister company, Hydralife Solutions. Hydralife cares for lakes, reservoirs, and ponds with beneficial phytoplankton (good algae) instead of chemicals. It focuses on lake health and reducing toxic algae blooms. Rius takes care of people. Hydralife cares for the water around us.
What does Rius Water set out to do?
In Rius's words, the company exists to:
Make one of the best feeling and best tasting waters for people to enjoy.
Create water people connect with and want to drink in abundance.
Make pure, remineralized water with a naturally higher pH that works with the body.
Structure water, re-energize it, and return life force to it.
Heal and purify water from many sources.
Turn people into water snobs.
Why was Rius Water founded?
Ryan Philipsborn has practiced sustainable aquaculture for decades. His work spans coral reef keeping and phycology, the study of algae. Water quality and filtration sat at the center of both. He used that knowledge to filter his own drinking water.
Then Ryan watched the documentary The Secret of Water and learned about structured water. He combined that idea with his filtration work, aquaculture background, and meditation practice. From there, he developed his own way to treat and structure water.
Ryan shared his water with energy workers, healers, friends, family, and animals. Their response encouraged him to share it more widely. Rius Water grew from there.
How can you practice mindful hydration at home?
Yoga asks us to notice. Drinking water is one more place to practice. Rius suggests two simple experiments. Treat them like a short meditation.
Compare two waters. Pour your tap water and the water you usually drink. Keep everything else the same. Sit comfortably with a long spine and few distractions. Drink a good portion of each, one at a time. Look past the taste. Notice how your body receives each one and what sensations arise.
Make a crystal elixir. Fill two glasses with reverse osmosis water. Place a raw clear quartz crystal in one. Cover both with foil and let them sit for 24 hours. Then find a quiet seat, lengthen your spine, and drink from each glass separately. Notice any difference in your body. Rius calls this crystal work "elixirs."
On the mat, we notice breath. Off the mat, we can notice the water we drink every day.
