Denver Yoga Summit Featured on Mile High Living
Mile High Living Denver Yoga Event Feature | February 27, 2026
Last week, I had the honor of joining Sam Boik on Denver7's Mile High Living to talk about the Denver Yoga Summit, our mission of bringing yoga from the mat into the world, and what it means to create a gathering where everyone truly belongs.
The Conversation That Started It All
When I sat down with Sam on the Mile High Living set, I knew I had about three minutes to share something that's taken me over a decade to fully understand: yoga is so much more than what happens on a rectangle mat.
For years, I've watched people experience yoga only as exercise. They show up for the physical practice—the strength, the flexibility, the sweat—and never discover that yoga is actually a complete philosophy for living with intention, presence, and purpose.
At the same time, I've seen too many people walk into yoga spaces feeling like they don't quite belong. Like they're not flexible enough, not spiritual enough, not whatever enough.
The Denver Yoga Summit exists to change both of those things.
From the Mat into the World: What It Actually Means
Our tagline isn't just marketing language. It's the core philosophy behind everything we're building.
"From the Mat into the World" means the poses and breathwork are just the beginning. They're tools—powerful, transformative tools—but the real practice is what happens when you step off the mat.
It's how you handle a difficult conversation at work. How you show up for your kids when you're exhausted. How you set boundaries without guilt. How you navigate grief, transition, uncertainty.
Yoga gives us a framework for all of it. The Yamas and Niyamas offer ethical principles for living with integrity. Pranayama trains your nervous system to respond differently to stress. Meditation teaches you to observe your thoughts without being controlled by them.
That's what we're exploring September 11-13 at Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield Farms.
Building a Gathering Around Belonging and Becoming
During the Mile High Living segment, Sam asked me what makes the Denver Yoga Summit different from other yoga events.
The answer came down to two words: belonging and becoming.
Belonging
When someone arrives at Chatfield Farms, I want them to feel—immediately—that their presence matters. That they're seen. That they're part of something bigger than themselves.
We've designed every element of the weekend with that intention:
Multiple tracks so whether you're a curious beginner, a seasoned teacher, or a studio owner, there's a path for you
Accessible pricing with early bird discounts and scholarship opportunities
Free monthly Reconnection Resets so people can experience the community before committing to the full weekend
A setting (700 acres of native gardens and mountain views) that invites you to slow down and actually be present
Becoming
The second moment we're holding space for is becoming. Not in a "fix yourself" way, but in a "remember who you are" way.
You don't come to the Summit broken. You come disconnected—from your body, from your clarity, from the version of yourself that felt alive and grounded.
The weekend is structured to help you reconnect. Through movement, philosophy, meditation, sound, and community, you leave with something real: a felt sense of connection to yourself and others, plus practical tools to live yoga in your daily life.
What to Expect: September 11-13, 2026
The Denver Yoga Summit is a three-day immersive experience at one of Colorado's most stunning venues. Here's what we're creating:
Friday: Arrival & Opening
Land in the space at your own pace—wander the gardens, visit the Butterfly House, find a quiet spot to sit
Community labyrinth creation: a slow, hands-on practice of presence
Opening welcome with land acknowledgment and intention-setting
Featured musical journey to close the evening with Mose (a global musical artist).
Saturday & Sunday: Deep Practice & Choice
You'll design your own experience across three distinct tracks:
Yoga Student Track:
For people who love yoga and want to go deeper without committing to a 200-hour training. Accessible sessions on philosophy, meditation, breathwork, and how yoga's teachings apply to modern life.
Yoga Teacher Track:
Continuing education sessions with nationally recognized facilitators including Ryan Leier, Nischala Joy Devi, Dr. Manoj Chalam, AJ Bishop-Andrews, and more. CE credits available.
Studio Owner Track:
Space to connect with other studio owners, share what's real, and learn from one another—rooted in collaboration over competition.
Throughout the weekend, you'll also find:
Live music and sound experiences
Immersive spaces for reflection, creativity, and restoration
A vibrant marketplace with mindful local makers
Food vendors and gathering spaces
Time for both community connection and quiet integration
The Reconnection Resets: An Invitation Before September
One question Sam asked during the Mile High Living segment was about our free monthly Reconnection Resets.
These gatherings are rooted in the yogic concept of seva (selfless service). We wanted to create accessible entry points for people who might not be ready to commit to the full Summit weekend—or who simply need support right now.
The Resets are designed for people in transition: post-burnout, post-relationship, post-everything they've been holding together. You're not broken. You're just disconnected.
Each 90-minute gathering includes:
Guided journaling
Gentle movement
Meditation
A long, nourishing sound bath
Click here to find out when the next one is happening. It's completely free. No experience needed. Just show up.
For many people, the Reset becomes their first taste of what the Summit community feels like. And that's exactly what we hoped for.
Why Chatfield Farms?
The venue matters. We didn't choose Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield Farms just because it's beautiful (though it absolutely is).
We chose it because practicing yoga surrounded by 700 acres of native gardens, wildflower meadows, and open views of the Rocky Mountain foothills creates a different experience than practicing in a studio or convention center.
Nature has a way of reminding us we're part of something larger. It invites us to slow down. To breathe deeper. To remember that we don't have to hold everything alone.
The setting itself becomes part of the teaching.
Early Bird Tickets: Why Committing Now Serves You
During the Mile High Living interview, I mentioned that early bird tickets (save $222) are available through April 30th.
I want to be clear about why I'm encouraging people to register now—and it's not just about securing a discount.
Committing early serves you in ways that go beyond money:
It creates anticipation. You have something to look forward to. A date on the calendar that's just for you.
It signals intention. You're telling yourself (and your life) that your growth, your practice, your connection matter enough to prioritize.
It shifts how you show up between now and September. When you know you're attending, you start noticing things—articles, conversations, practices—that feel relevant. You're priming yourself for the experience.
Sometimes the most aligned choice is simply deciding early.

Final Thoughts: Why We're Building This
At the end of the Mile High Living segment, Sam asked how people could connect with us. I shared our website and social media handles (Follow), but what I really wanted to say was this:
We're building the Denver Yoga Summit because we believe everyone deserves to feel like they belong in yoga. And we believe yoga belongs in every part of life—not just on the mat.
When you arrive at Chatfield Farms in September, you won't just be attending an event. You'll be joining a community that's choosing presence over performance, connection over perfection, and becoming over fixing.
That's what "From the Mat into the World" really means.
I hope you'll join us.
